The  credit card companies are required to credit the payments the day they are received, under the the Fair credit Billing Act. However this law also facilitate credit card issuer in terms of their own specific payment guidelines. So you should be concerned for these guidelines as if any of them is not met, the credit card company can delay the credit of your payment.


This means even if you make your credit card payment on time, the credit card company can become late due to the certain reason, and can legally charge you  credit card late fee.
